Breakfast and snacks are cold. Lunches will be hot. Students will be able to pick up lunches at their classroom. Menus and nutritional analysis are below. There will be a vegetarian option each day. Our Food and Nutrition Services Department may be able to meet some specialized dietary restrictions. Please contact the department at 650.903.6965. Gluten free lunches are not available. A count of those taking school lunch will be taken at the beginning of the school day. Students may bring their own self contained, cold lunches if desired.

Grab and Go meals

For distance learners and young children: Walk, drive or roll up to grab a free meal and go!

In 2020-21, free meals are available to all children in the Mountain View Whisman School District age 18 and younger. No IDs required. (Parents should continue to go here to apply for for free and reduced price meals and the National School Lunch program. )

Locations: All schools, except Stevenson (pickup for Stevenson is at Theuerkauf).
Times: 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. at the elementary schools. 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the middle schools.

Come to Graham Middle School between 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to pick up meals for multiple days. Food items will be different from what is served during daily pickups. On Monday: Pick up for four days. On Friday: Pick up for three days.

COVID emergency meals

For parents who have lost jobs, they now qualify for free and reduced lunches and can fill out the National School Lunch application.

On Saturdays, community agency Hope's Corner serves a free breakfast and bag lunch  (8-10 a.m.). 748 Mercy St, Mountain View.

Welcome!  We look forward to providing delicious food done well.   

We have an amazing staff, who work hard to provide your children a nutritious breakfast and lunch.   We are excited about the meals we are cooking and hope you will encourage your child to eat with us. The Mountain View Whisman School District Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) Department continues to meet stringent federal nutrition standards for school meals, while ensuring meals are healthy, well-balanced and provide students the nutrition they need to succeed at school.  

Now is a great time to encourage your kids to choose school lunch! School meals offer students a variety of protein choices and grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and milk, which all must meet strict limits on saturated fat, calories, sodium, and portion size.    

School meals must adhere to increased nutrition standards from the Federal Government, such as:
• Age-appropriate calorie limits;
• Larger servings of vegetables and fruits (students must take at least one serving of produce);
• A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes;
• Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free); and,
• More whole grains and less sodium.

We take pride in our program and it shows!  We work to offer our students healthier and tastier choices. The majority of our meals are freshly-prepared from scratch at our Crittenden Middle School kitchen daily from local foods, that are antibiotic-free, without additives or growth hormones.  Our pizzas are hand-made, fresh locally. New this year, is a daily, plant based, menued specials and organic products.  

School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families. All families are encouraged to apply for the Free/Reduced-Price Meal program.  Applications are online and confidential at EZMealApp.com
