MVWSD is a Pivotal Award winner!
In 2022, the California Pivotal Practice (CAPP) Program is being utilized by California in place of the California Distinguished Schools Program.
MVWSD has been selected as a 2022 California Pivotal Practice (CAPP) Award Program winner by the California Department of Education for many aspects of its Return to Learn plan. Only nine schools/ districts in Santa Clara County were selected for the award.
In 2020-21, MVWSD provided:
* Live synchronous instruction 4 days a week, through devices and internet for all students, in a schedule that mirrored a typical school day.
* Support with technology and social-emotional/ mental health
* More than 800,000 free meals during the 2020-21 school year and collaborated with community agencies to provide food pantries twice monthly at our Title I schools.
* Support with student attendance through the Student Re-engagement Plan
The California Pivotal Practice Award Program was designed to celebrate districts that implemented an innovative practice when California required schools to offer distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
