The Public Information Officer and the Office of the Superintendent work to consistently provide clear, accurate, relevant and timely information to stakeholders, reporting on district progress, seeking input, and encouraging participation in a two-way communication process.
We:
-
Share information about our schools and students through multiple forms of media and in many languages.
-
Build support for our schools by forming partnerships with families and community members.
-
Engage community members by organizing many opportunities for people to share their thoughts, provide input, and partner with us to serve all students.
-
Build capacity for school and District staff to share information through newsletters, websites, social media, phone messages, and community gatherings.
-
Provide clear and timely crisis communications.
We want to hear from you. Do you have a question? Concern? Idea?
Media relations
If you are a member of the news media who has a question or needs assistance, please contact Shelly Hausman, Public Information Officer, or Nancy Villalba, Executive Assistant.
How We Communicate with Parents
The district utilizes a tool called SchoolMessenger to contact families with important reminders and urgent information through email, phone calls and text messages. Click here to learn more.
Please pay attention to the information the school sends home. Some teachers may send letters home, post e-mail or message on your online school community, or use a voice mail message system. Schools and PTAs send home frequent newsletters. Make note of important school dates on your calendar
In addition to school newsletters, parents and interested community members get the Superintendent's eNewsletter several times a month.
How We Communicate with the Community
Our goal is to make District information readily available to the community. The following are ways to information and get involved:
