The first steps:
- Ask other parents you know how they're involved.
- Talk to the principal about your interests and ways to get involved at school.
- Ask your child's teacher about helping in the classroom.
- Attend a meeting of whatever organization or committee in which you are interested.
You can get involved with your local school in many different ways.

You can volunteer at school.

You can donate the amount of money or time you can afford. The Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) provides the district with funding for many vital programs.

You can attend a meeting or participate in activities sponsored by organizations like the PTA.

You can serve on advisory groups such as the School Site Council and committees for the parents of bilingual or Title I students. Check out the committees page here.
