MVWSD will have schools open Nov. 19 and 20

Sunday, Nov. 18
At this time, MVWSD will have schools open Monday and Tuesday as scheduled. Students will continue to have indoor recess/PE/lunch due to air quality. Thank you!

Friday, Nov. 16:
MVWSD will continue to monitor air quality throughout the weekend. If conditions warrant closure of schools and afterschool activities on Monday due to unhealthy air quality, we will notify families by 4 p.m. on Sunday. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented conditions.

Thursday, Nov. 15
Due to the wildfires, air quality has reached a very unhealthy level, and continued to deteriorate rapidly throughout the afternoon and evening on Thursday. For this reason, MVWSD has made the decision to close schools on Friday November 16 only.

We realize that closing school can impact families, and we do not make this decision lightly. Student health is our primary concern.

We plan to have school on Monday and Tuesday of next week as scheduled. We'll keep you updated through email, social media and the website at www.mvwsd.org.

As tough as this week has been for us, our thoughts are with all those who are directly affected by these devastating fires.
