The Mountain View Whisman School District has opened a 144-unit staff housing development—an initiative designed to help teachers and school staff continue living in the community they serve.
Thanks to the support of local voters through the passage of Measure T in 2020, the first residents moved into the new homes in February 2025. This collaborative project between MVWSD, the City of Mountain View, and Miramar Capital includes 123 below-market-rate studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments available to eligible employees.
To ensure the long-term success and stability of this project, the MVWSD Board of Trustees has established a dedicated nonprofit entity, the MVW Residences Corporation, which will oversee the housing development moving forward. The Corporation Board comprises professionals with experience in residential real estate and/or finance. This structure allows District leadership to stay focused on its core mission— educating students— while ensuring that the housing initiative is thoughtfully managed.
After interviews and deliberation, Trustees on Sept 18, 2025, appointed members to the MVW Residences Corporation Board:
Charles DiFazio (Trustee representative)
Meris Ota
Kyle Deshon
Stephanie Shipe
