Our school district is committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for every student. We recognize that this moment may bring questions and concerns for some families, particularly around immigration status and what federal immigration policies may mean for their daily lives.
We understand that some members of our community face challenges, including families with loved ones who are undocumented or navigating immigration-related issues. Our focus remains where it belongs: supporting and educating every child who comes through our doors. We take our ongoing commitment to the safety, privacy, and well-being of our students and families seriously.
Our guiding principle is clear and consistent: we will do everything we can to protect the privacy, safety, and rights of our students and families, while complying with immigration enforcement only to the extent required by law.
- We will not allow immigration-enforcement officers on campus unless they present a signed judicial warrant or demonstrate exigent circumstance
- We will not share personal information about students or families for immigration-enforcement purposes unless required by a court order or judicial subpoena
- Our staff will not collect or keep information about the citizenship status of students or their families
Federal and state law provide the right for all children—regardless of immigration or citizenship status— to a public education without discrimination, harassment, violence, or intimidation. We are also committed to the
Board Resolution Affirming Support of Students and Families Regarding Immigration Enforcement Actions at Schools.
