The second annual District Film Festival was held last week at the Graham Middle School Auditorium and attendees got to view some fantastic films created by our students. All students in grades K-8 were eligible to enter films that gave students a voice in expressing the importance of conservation. It was exciting to see the results of students and their teachers implementing research, science and technology for this important issue. We are so proud of our students' work and their ideas for building a sustainable future. To see all of the submissions, click here.
Stevenson Elementary was recognized as a nominee in the category of Caring Elementary School at the YMCA and Project Cornerstone’s Asset Champions Breakfast. The nominees and winners include organizations and individuals who support Project Cornerstone’s mission of building a support network so that young people grow into healthy, caring, and responsible adults.
March is Women’s History Month and our schools celebrated in a variety of ways. Highlights included a Women’s Voices Assembly with volunteers at Imai, a collaborative activity organized by the Vargas student council for students to create a portrait of influential women in history, and a spirit day coordinated by the Crittenden WEB class.
Our middle schools recently presented musicals that showcased their singing, dancing and acting. Crittenden put on “High School Musical, Jr” and Graham did “Sister Act, Jr.” We are so proud of the weeks of work that students, the performing arts staff and volunteer parents put in to make these shows amazing! Thank you for “raising your voice” and being “all in this together.”
