Dear MVWSD Community,
I want to take a moment to speak directly and honestly with you.
As many of you know, the recent FCMAT audit took a close look at how certain operations were handled within our district during a specific period—particularly related to contracts, travel, and oversight. While the report didn’t uncover evidence of fraud, it did highlight areas where clearer accountability and better decision-making were needed.
I’m joining this district as your new superintendent with a full understanding of what’s behind us…and a clear commitment to what lies ahead. I didn’t arrive to dwell in the past. My goal and the Board’s expectation is, as we move forward, our district operates with integrity and always puts students at the center of every decision.
I want you to know that I lead with an open door and open mind. I believe real progress comes from honest conversations, shared purpose, and active listening. Whether you're a parent, staff member, or community partner, I welcome your questions, ideas, and concerns. That openness is a promise I carry into this role.
This is our opportunity to turn the page—to learn from the past, not be defined by it. Together, we can build a stronger, more transparent, more connected school district that reflects the very best of our students, staff, and community.
Thank you for your continued trust and commitment to the Mountain View Whisman School District. I’m honored to be part of this journey with you.
With appreciation,
Jeffrey Baier
Superintendent
