PG&E Power Safety Shutoff information

PG&E Power Safety Shutoff information
picture of light bulbWe are closely monitoring the potential PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoffs. While MVWSD does not anticipate being affected by power shutoffs, please be assured we have specific plans and procedures in place to prepare for an outage, should it occur. These plans include food service, communications and instruction without power.

In the event of an outage prior to the school day starting, it is likely that school will be cancelled. If an outage occurs during the school day, the school day will continue as planned. In this scenario, parents should plan to pick up their students immediately at dismissal time as afterschool activities would be cancelled (no Beyond the Bell, Right at School, YMCA, clubs, etc.).

Parents, please keep in mind that out-of-town commutes could become difficult during power shutdowns. Please make sure you authorize local neighbors and friends to pick up your student from school. You can update pickup information with your school office staff.

School closure information will be relayed to you through SchoolMessenger emails, texts, automated phone calls, this website, and facebook.com/mvwsd

Thank you for your support of our schools.
