EDUCATION OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS (SPECIAL EDUCATION)



The Superintendent or designee shall ensure that all children whose home language survey indicates a language other than English will be assessed using the CELDT or alternate to determine English language proficiency at least annually.

The Superintendent or designee shall ensure that all children identified as English learners will be assessed annually using the CELDT.

The Superintendent or designee shall ensure that when developing the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) for children identified as English language learners, the IEP team will consider the results of the CELDT.  

The Superintendent or designee shall ensure that the IEP of children identified as English learners will include a determination of whether the CELDT will be administered with or without modifications or accommodations, or whether  English proficiency will be measured using an alternate assessment.
